Web Design:
Camio Plants
Project Overview
The Problem

The Product
Camio Plants is a local indoor /outdoor plant store that offers a variety of plants for interiors and exteriors.
My Role
Product Designer
The Goal
Design a simple and easy to use responsive website that lets users shop and place orders with ease both on desktop and mobile devices.
Responsibilities
My responsibilities throughout the project included competitive analysis, product research, hi-fidelity wireframes, user flow, mockups and product design.
Tools Used
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Fonts, Hex Codes, Images, Mockups
Project Duration
March 2022 - June 2022
Understanding the User
Competitive Audit
I looked at the design and navigation layout for both direct and indirect competitors. Most used colors in relation to the product offerings and navigation that focused on the product type, while including both product and lifestyle imagery to compliment. Navigation was simple and easy to understand for all.
Starting the Design
Typography
Camio wanted to stick with a trendy minimalist look and feel for its website and brand. I used Script MT Bold for the logo and Century Gothic for all accompanying text.
Color
I chose two variants of green, accompanied by supplemental monochromatic colors of black, white and shades of gray for accessibility, ease of use and readability.
Images
Being that Camio is a plant store, there were a healthy amount of botanical product images to choose from for conceptualizing the initial design.
Mockups
With a style guide in place, I went to work on creating mockups for an accompanying user flow that would demonstrate order placing. Camio emphasized that a majority of their customers rely heavily on their smart phones for all daily activity, so for the initial conceptualization, I focused on a mobile-first design and prototype.
Refining the Design
Hi-Fidelity Prototype
The hi-fidelity prototype demonstrates the user journey from adding a product to cart and checking out to complete an order. An added bonus of the initial draft allowed customers to option to add a complimentary product to cart for a discount. Product upselling was not mandatory in the initial design concept.
